Z Capital Partners

The managing members of Z Capital are Dan & Tom Peterson, brothers who both received their MBA’s from Harvard Business School in the early 1980’s. Their careers include senior management and financing experience in a wide variety of industries, including real estate, electronics manufacturing, golf course management, software and IT services, basic industries, stock research, and many others.

Although the principals’ backgrounds are similar, they focus on different aspects of each company in analyzing investment opportunities and in assisting entrepreneurs navigate the sometimes turbulent waters of start-up endeavors. The principals of Z Capital call on a variety of resources and experienced professionals to assist in both analyzing and assisting seed-stage companies. The company’s key advisors include:

Joel C. Peterson, who received the 2005 Distinguished Teaching Award at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he has been on the faculty for the past fourteen years, and currently teaches the course “Leadership Perspectives.” Mr. Peterson also founded Peterson Partners, a $400 million investment fund based in Salt Lake City.

Peterson Advisors, LLC, an advisory firm founded by the managers of Z Capital that provides services to emerging growth companies.
